At the same time they give a good resonance. The skins are carefully made. Therefore a Narayan Badya Bhandar Standard dayan always gives a clear, carrying sound. Slight vibratory sounds in the shyai can not be ruled out, though. They are not a defect, but an individual touch of the specific instrument. The standard diameter is 9 inch. Size & Pitch Our Narayan Badya Bhandar Standard dayans have an average diameter of 5 ½ inch. This diameter allows a maximum pitch of approx. c – c sharp.Of course the dayans can be played at lower pitches as well.
